Cleveland Browns defensive tackle Shaun Rogers was involved in an arrest, but it wasn’t his own for a change.

Rogers phoned the police when he noticed a man driving erratically, and he was ultimately caught and charged with drunk driving.

He said that the driver was either drunk or sleepy, that they have run off the road a few times and had a flat tire.

Rogers put on his emergency flashers and drove right behind the car, alerting other drivers on the roadway to a dangerous situation.

The police said Rogers went above and beyond the call of duty in his actions and put forth a courageous effort.

He ended up as a disappointment, overshadowed by many of the team’s playmaking wideouts.

Now in Cleveland, Watson has a big opportunity to become a major weapon for their rebuilding offense.

New quarterback Jake Delhomme intends on using Watson early and often, which is necessary considering the team has no proven wideouts on its roster.

Owens remains a free agent despite a number of teams that could use help at the wide receiver position.

He has previously said he is willing to try out for any team that is serious about signing him to a contract.

The Browns would seem like a team interested in Owens because they are desperate to put some playmakers out on the field.

General manager Tom Heckert said that Owens is no longer a dominant wideout and is a disruption in the locker room.

Believe it or not, Cleveland Browns linebacker D’Qwell Jackson could be in danger of losing his starting job.

Jackson has not yet signed his tender offer, which in the end could cost him a significant amount of money.

In addition, the team has significantly upgraded the talent at the linebacker position in the offseason.

Jackson was injured last year and missed more than half the season, so there is some question how he will respond in 2010.

He has not been at OTA’s, and the other talented linebackers have been impressing coaches in his absence.

The 2009 second round pick was disappointing in his rookie season, failing to make an impact on the offense.

Some of it certainly wasn’t his fault, as the team definitely had major issues at the quarterback position.

That won’t necessarily change this year, although Jake Delhomme should be an upgrade over last year’s Derek Anderson/Brady Quinn duo.

The Browns traded away Braylon Edwards and lost tight end Kellen Winslow last year, so the opportunity is there for Robiskie to have a huge impact.

Instead, the team president is working hard to try and build the Browns back into a winning organization.

It certainly won’t be easy, especially in a division that saw two teams get much better in the offseason.

Cleveland Browns kicker Phil Dawson skipped a practice in what could be a protest over his contract situation.

Dawson is in the final year of his contract and obviously wants a little bit of stability heading into next season.

He is the second-leading scorer in team history and has been asking for a new contract for several years.

The kicker position is probably not high on the list of priorities for a team with so many problems, but it is something that needs to be addressed.

The Browns have said that Dawson’s absence is not all about his contract but would not elaborate.

The Browns did trade back in the draft and select Tennessee running back Montario Hardesty in the second round.

The team would like to get him some carries each game at the very least, if not split the starting job between the two players.

Smith started five games for the Philadelphia Eagles last season, filling in for the injured Brent Celek.

He had just three catches for 25 yards last year, although it’s worth noting that Philadelphia does not use the tight end very much.

Smith is still a fairly young guy, having been a third-round pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers back in 2005.

If nothing else, he should be able to provide some depth at a position that had none last season.
