Cleveland Browns wide receiver/kick returner Joshua Cribbs said he likes his chances of returning to the team next season.
That’s a complete reversal from the comments Cribbs made right after the final game of the season.
At the time, Cribbs felt disrespected and unappreciated by the team and didn’t think he would be back.
New team president Mike Holmgren has reached out to Cribbs and let him know that he wants to get something done very soon.
The offensive star of the team, Cribbs has made it known that he loves Cleveland and wants to stay.

The Cleveland Browns have hired Tom Heckert as their new general manager, luring him away from Philadelphia.
Heckert had been with the Eagles since 2001 and was a big part of their dominance of the NFC over the past decade.
Mike Holmgren said that Heckert will have final say of the 53-man roster, with some input from him.
Heckert will have his work cut out for him in Cleveland, where the Browns haven’t seen the playoffs very much of late.
He will have the benefit of a lot of draft picks this year to increase the young talent on the roster.

Cleveland Browns head coach Eric Mangini will return next season after a second half push by the team.
A new coach is typically brought in when a general manager is hired, especially after a losing season.
However, Mike Holmgren wants to give Mangini another year after watching the Browns fight so hard down the stretch.
Holmgren said that he was very impressed with Mangini’s philosophies and his feelings toward the players when they sat down to talk.
Many of the players voiced their support of Mangini by the end of the year, which was a complete 180 from their feelings at the start of it.

The agent for Cleveland Browns special teams star Joshua Cribbs said he has likely played his last game for the team.
Cribbs has been trying to get the Browns to give him a new contract over the past year or so to no avail.
He was apparently so insulted by the team’s latest contract offer that he decided to clean out his locker.
The latest proposal would have paid Cribbs just $1.4 million per year, which is way less than he would get on the open market.
Cribbs said he is so hurt because Cleveland is the only place he wants to play, but that they are forcing him to go elsewhere.
The Cleveland Browns continued their second half surge with a 23-17 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
It was another big day for running back Jerome Harrison, who finished with 127 yards and a touchdown.
If nothing else, the Browns may have found their running back for the forseeable future this season.
They have not, however, found their quarterback of the future.
It was another very ugly day from quarterback Derek Anderson, who has probably punched his ticket out of town.
He finished the day with just 86 yards passing and an interception. What way to cap off the season!

The Cleveland Browns continued their late-season surge with a 23-9 victory over the Oakland Raiders.
Derek Anderson got the start for the Browns with quarterback Brady Quinn out for the season with a foot injury.
Anderson played reasonably well, throwing for 121 yards and a touchdown and did not turn the ball over.
The story of the day was once again running back Jerome Harrison, who turned in a workhorse-like effort.
Harrison finished the day with 39 carries for 149 yards and a touchdown to lead the offensive attack.
