Browns may keep Edwards

It looks like the Cleveland Browns may end up hanging on to star wide receiver Braylon Edwards after all.

Talks with the New York Giants have reached a standstill, and some have even said the deal is now dead.

It wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world if a deal wasn’t struck, as quarterback Brady Quinn would have a playmaker to help his transition as the starter.

It would also allow the Browns to fill another hole on the team with their No. 5 overall pick instead of selecting a wide receiver.

Then again, the Browns need another wide receiver and could possibly use the pick to upgrade their offense rather than just replace Edwards.

Edwards could be leaving town

The Cleveland Browns are in talks with the New York Giants to trade away wide receiver Braylon Edwards and his case of the dropsies.

Edwards has stated on several occasions how much he loves the Cleveland area and wants to remain with the team. It was clear that Edwards was frustrated with his play last year, but wants to remain with the team and help them reach the playoffs.

However, it doesn’t seem as though the fans feel the same way, as they are tired of all the dropped passes.

There is no questioning the man’s talent, but you have to wonder about his heart with the way he plays.

He drops a ton of passes and seems scared to catch a pass across the middle of the field, fearing the big hit. That’s not exactly a player that will endear himself to his teammates in the locker room.

Big change

The Browns have been making a lot of changes in the offseason. In late February, the Browns sent disgruntled tight end Kellen Winslow to the Buccaneers in exchange for a second-round pick in ’09 and a fifth-round selection in 2010.

Also, there is speculation that the Browns have a No. 1 pick on the table for Brady Quinn and are looking for more. However, it appears that the Browns will make the move to trade Quinn, with two teams allegedly interested. Big change is in store for the Browns—Stay tuned.
